Privacy Policy
Monk's Temple Records LLC ("MTR", "we") runs monkstemplerecords.com and the Monk's Temple app for iPhone and Android. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address, username, a securely hashed password, and the display name you choose. If you're a Founding Mother, you also choose whether that name appears on our Founding Mothers page.
- Purchases and membership. Your membership plan, its status and renewal date, the tracks and albums you've unlocked, and your token balance. Payments are handled by Apple, Google or PayPal. We never see or store your card details.
- What you listen to. When you play a track, we record the track, how long you listened, the time, whether you used the website, iPhone or Android app, and your account. This is how we pay artists: membership money is split by what each member actually played. Your plays stay linked to your account for as long as you have one.
- Messages you send us. If you email info@monkstemplerecords.com, we keep that conversation so we can help you.
How we use it and who we share it with
We use your information to run your account, give you access to what you've paid for, pay artists for plays, and answer your messages. We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Apple and Google process in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- PayPal processes purchases and memberships on our website and shop.
- RevenueCat confirms app store purchases with Apple and Google so your access works in the app and on the website.
- Bunny.net streams our music videos. It sees the request to play a video, not your account details.
- Our web host stores the website and its database.
Artists on the label see play totals for their own releases, not who played them. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Your choices
- Delete your account anytime from the app's account settings, or by emailing us. We delete your account details and stop linking plays to you. We keep purchase records as long as tax and accounting rules require, and play totals used for past artist payouts stay in those totals.
- Leave the Founding Mothers page. You can change your display name or remove yourself from the page at any time.
- Cancel a membership through the App Store, Google Play or PayPal, wherever you subscribed. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or to correct it.
The app and website aren't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and let members know about any big changes.
